BIGFOOT IN THE NORTHWOODS ??

Last weekend I was talking to a couple that I met in the fall, and they remembered telling me when they were walking their dog, a silhouette of bigfoot startled them. I knew exactly the location they were talking about and replied that they could see more of those in the area. These flat metal silhouettes stand over 7 feet and some even have red glowing eyes at night, produced by a small solar source.

This couple asked me if I believe bigfoot is real or if I knew of anyone that had seen one in the Northwoods. My response was I never saw a bigfoot, so I really don’t have an opinion, and I did not know anyone that did either. A few days later just out of curiosity I researched this topic and was surprised that Wisconsin ranks 18 in the United States for bigfoot sightings and Michigan including the Upper Peninsula is ranked 11th. Not only was I amazed at these numbers but there is actually an interactive bigfoot sighting map of Wisconsin.

Even though these sightings have not been documented there have been over 100 reported sightings in Vilas County (2013 & 2021) Oneida County (1990 & 2014) near Woodruff and Willow Flowage area, and Price County (1993, 2002, 2011 & 2013) near the Flambeau River. Iron County (2017). Chilton Wisconsin a bigfoot was seen in the Powell Marsh Wildlife area just last year. Then let’s not forget Michigan. There were over 200 sightings reported in the Upper Peninsula with the most recent being 2018.

Do these sightings mean there are huge hairy creatures in Wisconsin or is it just a case of misidentification. The evidence so far has been blurry photos, some type of vocalization, rock throwing, tree knocks, tracks and unusual branch formations. Bigfoot researchers in Wisconsin (yes there are) believe with the remote dense forest, water and food sources (whatever that would be) the Northwoods has the perfect habitat for this primates to go undetected for generations.

HERE ARE THREE FACTS. 1) There is no conclusive scientific evidence or other research methods that exhibits the existence of bigfoot, sasquatch or even the yeti/abominable snowman in the Himalayas. 2) There are literally millions of active trail cameras across the United States, so wouldn’t any unusual animal be filmed? 3) With all these global sightings, wouldn’t some bigfoot die and their huge skull/bones be discovered?

Back to the question does bigfoot exist? The 3 facts I stated above make sense to me, but with over 75K bigfoot sightings across 49 states, close to 6K have been seen as credible. That being said, over this past week, I had a conversation with a very credible person that told me of their personal experiences regarding bigfoot and I truly believe them. Even though I personally have never had an encounter with a bigfoot, now I’m kind of on the fence if there is such a creature roaming the Northwoods.

DOES ANYONE ELSE BELIEVE IN THIS LEGENDARY CREATURE?
