Hello and welcome to AllNorthwoods.com, a site dedicated to everything that makes the Northwoods what they are and why people flock to them all year. Our goal is to give folks information about different animals, and outdoor activities. You will see a few short stories on my Northwoods experiences along with fishing reports and tips. FISHING DURING SPAWN

When Wisconsin’s fishing opener arrives (May 3rd), one year it could be 65 degrees and sunny, and the next year could bring 45 degrees with a steady rain. For this reason, I know many people that do not live in the area and miss out on the possibility of incredible fishing. Or do they?  Because of the spawning period, catching fish can be challenging. Spawning is mostly about water temperatures and depending on the species of fish, will occur at different times. From what I was told yesterday (May 3rd), Walleyes that were caught have not spawned yet. Is there…
