I hope everyone that visits ALLNORTHWOODS. COM is well and had a great winter and I’m truly looking forward to seeing all of my regular customers and friends in the bait shop this coming season. I’ll still be working Saturday, Monday and Wednesday in May, but to enjoy the summer and fish more this year from June through September I will only be in the bait shop on Saturdays and Monday. Then I’ll be back for my regular days again in October.

With the fishing opener in 13 days (MAY 2nd) away, from what I can see, the lakes on the Cisco Chain that are legal to fish will have open water. To be honest, before this writing, (April 16th) I wasn’t sure if the ice was going to be gone, but we did have warm weather, rain and wind that really helped.

Like many of you, I’m looking forward to getting our pontoon ready and start catching some fish. As always, the bait shop will open 7 days a week at 7am. But last opening day when I got to the bait shop around 6:35 and there were quite a few of you already waiting for me, so for this year’s opener, I’ll be there and open at 6am on May 2nd.

Over the next three weeks, I will be covering SPRING LAKE TURNOVER, then WATER TEMPERATURES AND SPAWNING, and the third week POST SPAWN FISHING. I will also start my WEEKLY FISHING REPORT the second week after the opener and hopefully that will help anglers put some fish in their boats.

I’m excited for this coming season and I believe we will have a good year for fishing. See you all in the bait shop soon.
